Brookview School opened its doors in 1976 to a handful of parents seeking an alternative to the traditional public school education. The school has remained a vibrant and inclusive community, educating children from infancy through eighth grade. Brookview offers students a rigorous Montessori education with an emphasis on environmental, cultural and artistic awareness. Our ten acre campus includes a vegetable garden, an animal farm and varied habitats for exploration and study. Led by their own curiosity and guided by their teachers, our students engage in inquiry, investigation and discovery. We invite you to visit our campus and find out why parents regard Brookview as a place where children thrive.

We know that children are naturally curious and inquisitive. We believe that when a child’s interests and enthusiasms are met with opportunities to discover, a child develops deep understanding and the habits of lifelong learning. Habits such as persistence and self-reliance, coupled with a strong sense of identity, allow a child to interact confidently with the world. Our philosophy is derived from the observations of Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) who believed that education must serve the whole child by nurturing his capabilities. To follow the child and to meet his needs is the basic philosophy of Montessori. We facilitate learning by providing rich experiences based on discovery, rather than simple lecture and memorization. Developing deep understanding also results with maturity and strong academic achievement. At Brookview, we offer a place where each child can live up to his potential.
