Development

As a private, non-profit school, Brookview depends upon tuition, grants, and fundraisers to sustain its programs and services.  As a parent, alum, family member, or friend, please consider the following opportunities for participation in support of the vision and mission of Brookview School.  When each family is involved in the development of the school, our school community strengthens; together we provide our children with the best possible education.

New Opportunity – Easy to Do!

Great Lakes Scrip Center offers a deep selection of scrip gift cards from America’s favorite retailers. Take a look at the complete list of hundreds of retailers in pdf format. GLSC works with our partner retailers to offer hundreds of gift cards with substantial rebates.   Brookview receives from two to fifteen percent or more on each gift card purchased.    Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with scrip.  An organization of 150 families easily spends between one and two million dollars per year on food, clothing and other essentials. If these families use scrip for these purchases, they can raise as much as $40,000 to $80,000 per year for their organization –without spending an additional penny.

Purchasing Programs with Grocery Stores

Brookview School is registered with 3 local grocery stores – Meijer’s, Hardings and Martins.  After you register with them and identify Brookview as your benefactor, the school will receive a portion of the cost of your purchases either as cash back or as a system of points which we then use to purchase school or office supplies.

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is a once-a-year campaign. Everyone is asked to contribute so that we may provide unique and exceptional educational experiences for each child. The Annual Fund helps make up the difference between income from tuition and what it actually costs to operate the school.  The Annual Fund is necessary because it helps reduce future tuition increases, continues the tuition assistance program, attends to the unexpected building and grounds issues, and supports classroom programs through the purchase of books, instruments, and multimedia technology. Our goal is to have every Brookview family give to the Annual Fund to their full potential.

Special Projects/Sponsorships

Periodically a parent or friend of Brookview will sponsor a project or capital purchase for the benefit of the school.  Examples of these gifts of generosity are:  new maple coat and book bag area for the Upper Elementary students, 5 new computers, and a sponsorship of an additional foreign language instructor.  If you are interested in contributing in this way, please contact the Head of School for ideas and/or coordination of the gift you have identified.

Volunteerism

Many hands make light work!  Our children benefit greatly from the talent and expertise of Brookview family and friends.  Every family is expected to participate in volunteer activities at the school.  Please consider helping with an auction committee, building maintenance, planning or organizing social events, or in the office, library or classroom.  By volunteering, you model the importance of contributing to the larger community, an important part of your child’s classroom experience.
