Donate to our Year-End Appeal
To say this year has been challenging would be an understatement--for all of us.
At the same time, it has called upon us to be resilient. I’m grateful that as a community of like-minded parents and educators we have been up to the task. Montessori excellence has not only continued at Brookview, but it has grown deeper and more robust. A Montessori education never stops. Where there is challenge, there is life, and where there is life, there is learning.
Now we need to ensure that a Brookview education will be sustainable for many years to come. And sustainability is something we create together.
Brookview is currently facing a deficit of approximately $300,000. Fortunately, because of sound financial planning over the past 5 years, our cash reserves, along with a PPP Loan and other available funds, we are able to weather this storm. However, we need your help to build future resilience. Without your help, we will not be able to endure another year of unexpected expense and reduced enrollment.
As a result of this unprecedented year, we have made essential COVID expenditures such as PPE, sanitization supplies, and increased security. In addition, we have invested in safety by making significant improvements to our outdoor environment, including an outdoor stage, tables for children to eat and work at outside, and refurbishments to our boardwalk and trails. As we move into the winter season, we need to invest in metal hand railings for our new Infant and Toddler entrance. We are also looking into air purifiers for our classrooms.
Our community of children, Board of Directors, parents, teachers and staff have adapted, been inspired, resourceful, and giving with their time this year. We need to build upon our momentum by engaging our community to replenish our financial position. To counteract the effect of the Pandemic on our enrollment and expenses, we have set a goal of raising $300,000 over the course of the school year, beginning immediately with this year-end fundraising appeal. Please dig deep and consider increasing your previous level of giving significantly. Together, we can harness this opportunity to sustain and advance Brookview’s mission to Create Individuality and Ignite Passion for Learning in an Authentic Montessori Environment.
Our Board of Directors, along with a generous group of donors from the community, have pledged $50,000 as a matching challenge to begin our campaign. Every dollar you donate between now and the end of calendar year 2020 will be matched by an equal amount. Please give generously and give soon! You may use the enclosed reply envelope or donate through PayPal on the home page of our website at Brookviewschool.org.
Those of us who work for Brookview are very fortunate. We are a team who collectively witness the value that our school has brought to this community for over 45 years. I wake up every morning so appreciative of our wonderful teachers and staff, and thankful for the prolific education Brookview Montessori School provided for my own daughter, beginning in Brookview’s Toddler Program, through Primary, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School. The effects of a Montessori education are life-changing, and never subside.
It warms my heart that our continued efforts are what create the light in each child’s eyes, a light so powerful and unmistakable that no facial covering can mask it. Please help us continue this journey toward a bright future for Brookview and for the children we serve.
Volunteer |
Gifts of time, expertise, and talent are especially valuable. We also encourage families to give a minimum of 25 hours per year (just 2.5 hours per month). If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your child's teacher to see if there are opportunities in the classroom or Brookview's front desk at info@brookviewschoool.org to learn about opportunities to help the school overall. |
Special Projects/Sponsorships |
Periodically a parent or friend of Brookview will sponsor a project or capital purchase for the benefit of the school. Examples of these gifts of generosity are: a new maple coat rack and book bag area for the Upper Elementary students, 5 new computers, or a sponsorship of an additional foreign language instructor. If you are interested in contributing in this way, please contact the Executive Director for ideas and/or coordination of the gift. |
Brookview Events |
Brookview hosts a number of fundraising events throughout the year including a 5K, Community Pint Night, a Live Auction and Dinner and more. Be sure to check back on our events calendar and news pages for more information about these events throughout the year, so you can support Brookview by attending these events! |
